Unpacking the Bathroom

The next room you should prepare is the bathroom. We all know that we need functioning bathrooms to be comfortable, or else we could all wear diapers. Since we aren't all infants, bathrooms are very important.

1. Locate all of the bathroom boxes and put them in a separate area.
2. Decide what you need to unpack first according to importance.
3. If you haven't already, hang the accessories, such as shower curtains, towel racks, etc.
4. Unpack your toiletries and place them where they are easily accessible.
5. Men, make sure you put the toilet seat down.

Unpacking the Living Room

Now it is time to shift your attention in the direction of your living room or family room. Before you begin to shift heavy furniture around, it would be wise to make a sketch of what you would like the room to look like. We say it is much easier to erase a rectangle pretending to be a couch and pencil it in somewhere else than it is to lift and move the actual couch around the room.

1. Think of how you would like your furniture to be laid out.
2. Draw it out on a piece of paper so you can see if it works, or maybe change things around easily.
3. Once you have devised up a plan, put it to action.
4. Get someone to help you move the furniture to where it should be in either the living room or dining room.
5. Unpack any accessories needed, such as lamps, throws and pillows to brighten up the life of your living room, making it feel more like home.

Unpacking the Bedroom

If you do not manage to get to unpack on the first night, do not fret. Pull out the mattresses and pillows together in one room and have a fun family camp-out. It will give the moving endeavor a new sense of adventure. Once you are ready to tackle unpacking and setting up the bedrooms, go one room at a time. Follow similar steps to those above. Be sure that you unpack what you need first. Share the burden of assembling the beds and moving heavy night stands and dressers, but it is important to let each bedroom inhabitant unpack and arrange their personal belongings.
