Clean it Up
Are you running around on moving day and you’re not sure how to keep the kids occupied? You might be surprised how well giving them a job to help clean may work. Do the windows look streaky? Give your children some Windex and a few spare towels. You’ll be able to keep an eye on them and give them a purpose at that same time that your movers are going in and out of the home.

Remove Garbage
Do you find that your children seem to have boundless energy when you’re trying to deal with the movers and get everything squared away when they show up? Put your kids on garbage removal duty! Along with helping to clean the remainder of the house, they can pick up any spare sheets of bubble wrap, packing paper or cardboard boxes and throw them away. Just make sure you have an allocated spot for them to put garbage.


Create a Memory Spot

Once you know for certain where it is that you’ll be moving, look the town up online with your child. Tell them a little bit about their new school. Are there any parks or playgrounds near your new home? That’s sure to be a draw for younger kids. If the kids are a little older, help them feel involved in the new home by asking their opinions about things like paint color, carpeting and general design.
