Delete Fraudulent E-Mails (Continued)
These e-mails often contain poor grammar and obvious spelling mistakes as well. If you read closely, you can also see that the writers are attempting to use obvious expressions that indicate how hard they are trying to use proper English. You can be almost positive that this means they are con artists from outside the country who have no intention of renting your property and only want to scam you. Never give out personal information like your phone number, address and especially your bank information or social security number to these people.


Always Set Up an Appointment
It can be tempting when you see a beautiful property in a magazine or online to rent the home immediately without seeing it first. Resist the urge! It's imperative to call or e-mail first and ask to set up an appointment to view the property before committing to anything. Prior to settling on a rental agreement, you should always make sure you’ve had the chance to go over the property without feeling rushed. If you're not able to do this yourself, ask someone who you trust! Have them make a visit to the property to take pictures and even record it on video for you if they're able to.
